What are the commonly used wrenches? Introduction to Several Common Spanners

A wrench is a common tool for removing and installing threaded connections(bolts,nuts).Due to differences in the specific structure,location,and strength of threaded connections,wrenches are also divided into many types.The following is a brief introduction to several commonly used wrenches.Let's take a look together.

1.Box wrench

The inner holes at both ends of the ring wrench are hexagonal.According to its closed size,it can be divided into 8-10mm,12-14mm,17-19mm,etc.

When using,a ring wrench with the corresponding closing size should be selected based on the size of the bolt or nut.Compared to open end wrenches,ring wrenches can be rotated and reinstalled after being turned 30 degrees,making them suitable for use in narrow situations with high strength and not easy to slip when used.

2.Dual purpose wrench

One end of the dual purpose wrench is an open end wrench and the other end is a ring wrench.

3.Socket wrench

Socket wrench is a convenient,flexible,and safe tool for removing bolts,which is not easy to damage the edges and corners of the nut during use.Its sleeve is in the shape of a short tube,and one end is in the shape of a twelve or hexagonal shape,which can cover the bolt head;The other end has a square head hole that fits with the square tenon of the matching handle.Common socket wrenches include 6.3mm series,10mm series,and 12.5mm series.In addition to common standard sleeves,there are many special sleeves,such as:hexagonal long sleeves,hexagonal or hexagonal torx shaped sleeves,pneumatic sleeves,screwdriver sleeves,and so on.

4.Adjustable wrench

Adjustable wrench,also known as adjustable wrench,can adjust the opening size within a certain range,suitable for irregular bolts or nuts.Its specification is expressed in large opening width x wrench length(mm).

During use,the jaw should be adjusted to the same width as the opposite side distance of the bolt or nut,and tightened so that the wrench can move the jaw,withstand thrust,and fix the jaw to withstand tension.

The disadvantage of a movable wrench is that it is not convenient to operate,requires rotating the worm to open or narrow the movable jaw,and the wrench is easy to slide away from the bolt.

5.Solid wrench

A solid wrench,also known as an open end wrench,is mainly used to tighten and disassemble nuts and bolts of general standard specifications.The opening direction of a solid wrench is offset by an angle with the handle,usually 15 degrees,45 degrees,90 degrees,etc.,to facilitate pulling at a restricted position.Its specification is expressed by the width of the openings at both ends(mm).Solid wrenches are usually forged from 45 steel or 50 steel and heat treated.Some foreign solid wrenches use English units,which are suitable for disassembling English bolts.

When using,select a solid wrench with the corresponding opening size based on the size of the bolt or nut.To prevent wrench damage or slippage,the pulling force should be applied to the thicker side of the opening.

6.Torque wrench

Torque wrenches are mainly used to assemble bolts and nuts with specified torque values.For example:cylinder head,connecting rod,crankshaft main bearing,and other bolts.Commonly used torque wrenches include preset force type and pointer type.

7.Electric wrench

An electric wrench is a wrench powered by a power source or battery,suitable for installing high-strength bolts in steel structures.It is mainly divided into impact wrenches,torsion shear wrenches,fixed torque wrenches,angle wrenches,hydraulic wrenches,etc.

8.Hexagon wrench

The hexagonal wrench is an L-shaped hexagonal rod wrench specially used for screwing hexagonal screws.Suitable for fastening or disassembling round nuts on machine tools,vehicles,and mechanical equipment.

9.Hook wrench

Also known as a crescent wrench,it is used to twist flat nuts with limited thickness.
